Socioeconomic problematic of aging in Daloa (center-west of Côte d'Ivoire)

The question of aging is at the heart of the lexicography of research in the social and human sciences. Based on the principle that aging is processual and aging is a state observed at the end of the process, the social construction of aging in Bété culture deserves to be questioned. In view of the health and socioeconomic implications of aging in Côte d'Ivoire and particularly among the Bété people of Daloa, the questioning of the social construction of aging seems well founded.
Thus, this reflection proposes to analyze the socio-economic issue of aging on the population of Daloa.
To achieve this, we have included this reflection in a qualitative approach. The techniques we have used are: documentary research, direct observation and individual interviews. These mobilized the following tools: a reading grid, an observation grid and interview guides.
At the end of this reflection, it emerges that old age is seen as a blessing in the Bété people. The elderly are the guarantors of the culture and knowledge around which the social and economic life of the Bété people is organized.
