CINI 2026 is an international academic conference bringing together scholars and practitioners to examine the role of social sciences in understanding and addressing conflict dynamics in sub-saharan africa.

“Social sciences and conflict resolution mechanisms in sub-saharan africa.”
The conference aims to provide an academic platform for the presentation and discussion of original research addressing the role of social sciences in the analysis, understanding, and strengthening of conflict prevention, management, and resolution mechanisms across sub-saharan africa. Interdisciplinary contributions are particularly encouraged.
Organisation
The conference is organised by the African Journal of Social Sciences and Public Health (RASP) in partnership with the Bamako Institute for Research and Development Studies (BIRDs), the Laboratory for Studies and Research in Reproductive Transition (LERTG) of Alassane Ouattara University in Côte d’Ivoire, Ibn Rushd University (IRU), the National Institute of Public Health in Mali (INSP), and the National Institute of Human Sciences (ISH).
Scope and topics
Submissions may address, but are not limited to, the following areas:
• endogenous and community-based conflict resolution mechanisms
• governance, institutions, and peacebuilding processes
• social cohesion, resilience, and post-conflict reconstruction
• security crises and societal transformations
• roles of youth, gender, and media in conflict dynamics
• digital technologies and mediation practices
• public policy and conflict management frameworks
